A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST
COVINA, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 6482,
RELATING TO MANAGEMENT AND CONFIDENTIAL SERVICES.
WHEREAS, a core of administrative professionals, more com-
monly known as the management team, has been established; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to update resolutions pertaining to
management and confidential -exempt salaries and benefits from time to
time; and
WHEREAS, Council has established that annual adjustments.to
the City Manager, City Treasurer, management employees and confidential
employees are granted as in the General Employee's representation unit-.
Annual increases for management employees in the Fire and Police De-
partments are granted as in their respective employee units.
NOW, THEREFORE, the Citv Council of the City of West Covina
does resolve as follows:
SECTIO14 1. That Resolution No. 6482 re:+ating.to management
and confidential services is hereby amended.
SECTION 2. That Attachment "A," Management and Confidential
Salary Range A is'hereby amended by Attachment "A" of this resolution,
which is on file in the Personnel Department. Resolution No. 6437
establishes a Range B and the criteria for awarding Range B assign-
ment to employees whose value exceeds normal expectations. The maximum
Range B salary allowable exceeds the top of Range A by fifteen percent.
SECTION 3. LIFE INSURANCE
• That Section 4.B of Resolution 6482 shall be amended to provide
that the City shall furnish each management employee with term life
insurance in the sum of $100,000; and each confidential -exempt employee
in the sum of $50,000.
SECTION 4. DEFERRED COMPENSATION
That Section 4.D of Resolution 6482 shall be amended to provide
the following:
1. Management employees - $100 per month allotment to be con-
tributed toward health insurance premiums or a designated
deferred compensation program.
2. Confidential employees - $50 per month allotment to be con-
tributed toward Health insurance premiums or a designated
deferred compensation program.
SECTION 5. BUDGET ALLOTMENT
That the City Council does hereby allocate an amount of money
sufficient to fund these salary and benefit adjustments for the life of
this resolution, and authorize the transfer of funds for these purposes
frcm Project No. 79030.
• SECTION 6. The effective date of.this resolution is
January 1, 1983.
SECTION 7. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this resolution.
