Resolution - 6652ry RESOLUTION NO. 6652 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA, CALI;FORNIA, AMENDING APPENDIX "A" OF RESQLUTION NO. 6501, THE CITY'S.BASIC.PAY RANGE STRUCTURE, AND RESOLUTION NO. 127.7; AND FIXING COMPENSATION AND BENE- FITS FOR PERSONNEL I.N CLASSES REPRESENTED BY THE WEST COVINA COMMUNICATIONS OPERATOR'S ASSOCIATION. WHEREAS, the City of West Covina has met and conferred with. • the West.Covina Communications Operator's Association; and WHEREAS, the City of West Covina and the West Covina Communi- cations Operator's Association have mutually -agreed in a Memorandum of Understanding; NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the,City'of West Covina does resolve as follows: SECTION 1. That Appendix "A" of Resolution No. 650.1, the City's Basic Pay Range Structure is hereby amended by Exhibit "A" of this reso- lution; and Section 6 of Resolution No. 1277 is hereby amended by this resolution. SECTION 2. The Basic Pay Range Structure for classes repre- sented by the West Covina Communications Operator's Association will be amended pursuant to Exhibit "A" which is on file, 1n the Personnel Department, SECTION 3. HEALTH INSURANCE A. Effective July 1, 1983, the City will contribute $165 per month per qualifying employee towards the payment of premiums for City - contracted insurance coverage.. • B. The City shall make its increased contribution as set forth in "A" above effective with.the last pay period in June 1 9.83, in order p to meet the repaid requirements of the health insurance carrier. C. The City shall modify the Kaiser Foundation Health Pro- gram -to include optical, student and prescription options at employee expense, effective July.19.83. Employee payment for these options shall be made June 20, 1983. SECTION 4. DIS'ABILITY*INSURANCE Section XIII. Sick Leave (e) of Personnel Resolution No. 1277 shall be amended as follows: (e) An employee who is entitled to temporary disability in- demnity under Div. 4, Div, 4.5 oflthe State Labor Code'or Statee Disability Insuratce may elect to,take that number of days Qr portions of days of his accumulated sick leave, or his. accumulated vacation, as when added to his disa- bility indemnity will result in apayment to him of his full salary. When his accumulated sick leave, or vacation, or both.are exhausted,- he is still entitled to receive disability indemnity. SECTION 5. HOLIDAYS That the City shall provide the option of selecting either holi- day pay or compensatory time credit for said hours worked to members of the West Covina Communications Operator's Association who work on the following holidays: New Year's Day, Washington's Birthday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veteran's Days, Thanksgiving Day, the day after Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day. SECTION 6. COMPENSATION FOR SENIOR OPERATORS The City shall provide the option of receiving compensatory time in accordance with the pay -compensatory time conversion formula applied to premium pay for operator training duties in lieu of pre- mium pay for work as a Senior Operator. SECTION 7. TUITION REIMBURSEMENT • The City shall increase the maximum tuition reimbursement to $444 per fiscal.year. SECTION 8. BUDGET ALLOCATION That the City Council does hereby allocate an amount of money sufficient to fund these salary and benefit adjustments for the life of this resolution, and authorize the transfer of funds for these purposes from Project 79030- SECTION 9. The effective date of this "resolution is January 1, 1983. 4 SECTION 10. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution. APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 24th day of ;January , 1983.
