RESOLUTION NO. 6566
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WEST COVINA, CALIFORNIA, SUSPENDING CERTAIN INCREASES
IN THE AMOUNT OF ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT AND FILING
FEES EQUAL TO THE INCREASE OF THE BASE INDEX IN
THE THEN LATEST AVAILABLE CONSUMER PRICE INDEX
FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1982-83.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of West Covina under Ordinance
No. 1384, Section 4, applies the Consumer Price Index as prepared and released
by the Federal Government or any other government agency for the Los Angeles/
Long Beach area with the month of June 1978 as the base index to increase
or decrease the rate as of July 1 of each year annually; and
WHEREAS, the suspension of a portion of said fees in Resolution
No. 6410 shall terminate as of July 1, 1982, at which time the Resolution
shall no longer be of force and effect and the full amount of said fees shall
automatically be reinstated; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that the rates including
the suspension bear a reasonable relationship to the cost of the service for
1982-83.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of West Covina does
resolve as follows:
SECTION 1. Municipal Code, Section 26-202, Filing Fees, letter
(a), charges for Printing, Postage and Miscellaneous Processing Costs shall
be suspended as of July 1, 1982 in an amount equal to the increase from July 1,
1981 to the latest available Consumer Price Index per Section 26-202 of the
Municipal Code.
SECTION 2. All other fees imposed by Section 1 and Section 2 of the
Ordinance No. 1384 shall be in effect for the fiscal year commencing on July 1,
1982 and will not be increased as of July 1, 1982 in an amount equal to the
increase from July 1, 1979 to the latest available Consumer Price Index per
Section 26-202 of the Municipal Code.
SECTION 3. Section 1 of this Resolution shall not alter the base
year of prior year adjustments for increasing or decreasing the rate in sub-
sequent years as provided in Section 4 of the Ordinance No. 1384.
SECTION 4. That this Resolution shall become effective immediately
upon its adoption.
SECTION 5. That the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this Resolution and cause the same to be published in the manner required by
law.
