A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST
COVINA ESTABLISHING A FEE TO BE CHARGED AS A CLEAN UP
DEPOSIT FOR EACH CHRISTMAS TREE LOT AND EACH FIREWORKS
STAND FOR WHICH A PERMIT IS ISSUED.
WHEREAS, Section 10.21 of the West Covina Municipal Code amends Section 11.208
(f) and 78.108 (a) of the Uniform Fire Code 1979 edition to provide
• that the City Council may, by resolution establish a fee as a clean
up deposit for each Christmas tree lot and each fireworks stand for
which a permit is issued, and
WHEREAS, the fee shall be refunded if, no later than 10 days after the last
day of the sale the Christmas tree lot and/or fireworks stand has
been removed and cleared of debris, and
WHEREAS, failure to remove and clear the debris shall result in forfeiture
of the fee, and
WHEREAS, the fee will be used to defray the cost of cleaning up the area.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of West Covina does hereby resolve
as follows:
SECTION 1. The clean up deposit fee established by Section 10.21
of the West Covina Municipal Code amending Section 11,.208.(f) of
the Uniform Fire Code shall be $100.00 for each Christmas Tree lot.
SECTION 2. The clean up deposit fee established by Section 10.21
of the West Covina Municipal Code amending Section 78.108 (a) of
the Uniform Fire Code shall be $100.00 for each fireworks stand.
SECTION 3. The clean up deposit of $100.00 is a reasonable fee to
• defray the cost to the City for enforcing the provisions of Section
11.208 (f) and 78.108 (a) of the Uniform Fire Code.

resolution.
