Resolution - 6394RESOLUTION NO. 6394 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA, CALIFORNIA, REQUESTING THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS.OF THE COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES TO RENDER_SPECIFIED SERVICES TO SAID CITY RELATING TO THE CONDUCT OF THE SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD 'IN SAID CITY ON NOVEMBER 3, 1981 WHEREAS, a special municipal election is to be held in the City of blest Covina, California, on the 3rd day of November, 1981, and; WHEREAS, in the course of conduct of said election and in relation thereto it will be necessary to mail sample ballots and polling place information to the registered voters of the City, and it will facilitate such mailing if the Registrar of Voters of the County of Los Angeles will make available to said City computer labels with the names.and•addresses'of all eligible registered voters and polling place location in order that labels may be attached to self - mailer sample ballot pamphlets; and WHEREAS, all necessary expense in performing this service shall be paid by the City of blest Covina; NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of 14est Covina does hereby • resolve as follows: SECTION 1. That pursuant to -the provisions of Section 22003 of the Elections Code of the State of'California, the City Council hereby requests the Board of Supervisors of the County of Los Angeles to permit the Registrar of Voters to prepare and furnish to the City of blest Covina for use in conducting said election computer labels with the names and addresses of all eligible regis- tered voters in said city and polling place location in order that the city may have labels attached to self -mailer sample.ballot pamphlets; and will also furnish to the city printed indices of the voters to be used by the precinct board at the polling place; and will.make available''U the City additional election equipment and assistance according to state law. SECTION 2. That the City of West Coviha.shall reimburse said county for services performed when the work is completed and upon presentation to the City of a properly approved bill. SECTION 3. That the City Clerk is hereby directed to forward without_ delay to said Board of Supervisors and to said Registrar of Voters each a certified copy of this Resolution. SECTION 4. That the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution. SECTION'5. In the event that there is a statewide general election held on November 3, 1981, this resolution shall be null and void. • APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 20th day of July, 1981.
