A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WEST COVINA,`-CALTFORNIA_VACATING AND"ABANDONING A
PORTION OF A STREET WHICH HAS BEEN SUPERSEDED
• BY RELOCATION (MERCED AVENUE).
WHEREAS, The City of West Covina has realigned a
portion of Merced Avenue, westerly of Glendora Avenue, and
WHEREAS, there are no street improvements on a portion
of the old alignment of Merced Avenue, and
WHEREAS, Speedi-Gas, Inc., the adjacent property owner,
has requested the vacation of the abovementioned portion of
Merced Avenue, for better utilization of his property.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of West
Covina does resolve as follows:
SECTION 1... Pursuant to Sections 1930 to 1934, inclusive,
of the Streets and.Highways Code, the City Council of the City of
West Covina hereby finds and determines that the following de-
scribed portion of Merced Avenue has been superseded by relocation:
That portion of Merced Avenue in the City of West Covina,
County of Los Angeles, State of California, as shown
on the map of E. J. Baldwin's fourth subdivision,
recorded in Book 8, Page 186 of maps on file in the
office of`the .County Recorder of said County.
• Commencing at a point on the Southwesterly line of
Lot 162-of E. J. Baldwin's 4th Subdivision part of
the Rancho La Puente, as per map recorded in Book
8, Page 186 of Maps in the office of the Los .
Angeles County Recorder, said point being North
480 07'.West 145 feet-*' 'from the most Southerly
corner of said Lot 162; thence South 410 53' 57"
West 3.89 feet to the intersection of a curve,
concave Southwesterly and having a radius of 1040
feet; thence Southeasterly along said curve 91.64
feet through a central angle of 50 02' 55" to the
beginning of a curve, concave northerly and having
a radius of 25 feet; thence Easterly along said
curve 43.19 feet through a central angle of
980 59' 07"; thence North 420 56' 15" East 1.35
feet to the intersection of a curve, concave
Northerly and having a radius of 25 feet, said
curve being the right-of-way line of the inter-
section of Glendora Avenue and Merced Avenue as it
existed on May 13, 1981; thence Westerly along
'said curve 22.72 feet through a central angle of
520 04' 33" to its point of tangency with the above
mentioned Southwesterly line of Lot 162; thence
North 480 07'*West 100.48 feet to the point of
beginning.
SECTION 2. That portion of existing Merced Avenue
described in Section l hereof is hereby summarily vacated and
abandoned.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this resolution and shall cause a certified
copy thereof to be recorded in the office of the County
Recorder of said.County.`
