A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WEST COVINA, CALIFORNIA, RESCINDING RESOLUTION
NO. 6295 DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO VACATE A CERTAIN
PORTION OF SOUTH SUNSET AVENUE, SUBJECT TO THE
i RESERVATION AND EXCEPTION OF CERTAIN RIGHTS AND
EASEMENTS.
The City Council of the.City of West Covina does resolve as
follows:
SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of West Covina, does
hereby declare its intention to vacate a certain portion of South
Sunset Avenue in the City of West Covina as shown on a map or plan on
file in the office of the City Engi,neer.to which reference is made for
further particulars, described as follows:
Those portions of Lot 133 of E. J. Baldwin's 4th Subdivision of
part of the Rancho La Puente, in the City of West Covina,
County of Los Angeles, State of California, as per map recorded
in Book 8, Page 186 of Maps, in the office of the County
Recorder of said County, together with those portions of Sunset
Avenue (60 feet wide) as shown on said map of E. J. Baldwin's
4th Subdivision described as a whole as follows:
Beginning at the most easterly corner of Lot 143 of said
• Subdivision; thence North 480-46'-34" West along the north-
easterly line of said Lot 143, 386.06 feet; thence South
000-25'-10" West, 133.80 feet; thence North 890-34'-50" West,
6.0.0 feet to the True Point of Beginning; thence continuing
North 890-34'-50" West, 53.00 feet; thence South '000-25'-10"
West, 41.34 feet; thence North 890-34'-50" West, 58.75 feet;
thence South 000-25'-10" West, 120.19 feet to a point on the
northerly line of West Covina Parkway (80 feet wide) as,des-
cribed in Deeds to the City of West Covina, recorded on April
8, 1960, as Instrument No. 1937 in Book D-805, Page 520, of
said Official Records and recorded on February 18, 1963, as
Instrument No. 3131 in Book D-1924, Page 296, of said. Official
Records, said line being a curve concave southerly and having
a radius of 4645.00 feet, a radial line to said point bearing
North 020-31'-01" West; thence westerly along said curve,
through a central angle of 00-36'-43" and an arc length of
49.61 feet to the intersection with a line parallel to and
distant 335.00 feet southwesterly, measured at right angles,
from the northeasterly line of said Lot 143; thence
North 480-46'-34" West, along said parallel line, 609.46 feet
to the northwesterly line of said Lot 143; thence South
41°-13'-52" West, along said northwesterly line 130.65 feet to
a point in a non -tangent curve concave northwesterly and hav-
ing a radius of 805.00 feet, a radial line. to said point
bearing South 630-05'-08" East; thence northeasterly along
said curve, through a central angle of 80-20'-32" and an arc
. length of 117.21 feet to a tangent line that is parallel with
and distant 55.00 feet southeasterly, measured at right
angles, from the center line of Sunset Avenue as shown on
Parcel Map No. 7430, in said City, County and State, filed in
Book 91, Pages 35 and 36 of Parcel Maps, in said Recorder's
office as having a bearing and length of North 180-34'-20"
East, 201.48 feet; thence North 18-34'-20" East, along
said parallel line, 136.48 feet to the beginning of a
tangent curve concave southerly and having a radius of
• 29.00 feet; thence easterly, along said curve, through a
central angle of 900-00'-00" and an arc length of 45.55 feet
to a tangent line that is parallel with and distant 72..00
feet southwesterly, measured at right angles, from that cer-
tain course in the southerly boundary of said Parcel Map No.
7430, as having a bearing and length of North 710-25'-40" West,
81.07 feet; thence South 710-25'-40" East 77.07 feet to the
beginning of a tangent curve concave southwesterly and having
a radius of 189.00 feet; thence southeasterly, along said
curve, through a central angle of 190-53'-49," and an arc
length of 65.63 feet to a tangent line; thence South
510-3l'-51" East, 129.28 feet; thence South 480-46'-34" East,
331.36 feet to a tangent curve concave northeasterly and
having a radius of 130..00 feet; thence easterly, along said
curve, through a central angle of 400-48'-16" and an arc
length of 92.58 feet to a tangent line; thence South
890-34'-50" East, 6.99 feet; thence South 440-34'-50" East,
12.73 feet to the TRUE POINT OF BEGINNING.
EXCEPTING THEREFROM that portion lying southeasterly of the
northwesterly line of said Lot 143.
RESERVING AND EXCEPTING ALSO from said vacation the permanent
easement and right at any time, or from time to time, to
construct, maintain, operate, replace, remove, and renew
• sanitary sewers, and appurtenant structures thereof and to
construct, maintain, operate, replace, remove, renew, and
enlarge lines of pipe, conduits, cables, wires, poles, and
other convenient structures, -equipment and fixtures for the
operation of gas pipe lines, telegraphic and telephone lines,
and traffic control purposes and for transportation control
or distribution of electric energy -and water lines, including
access and the right to keep the property free from inflammable
materials, and wood growth, and otherwise protect the same from
all hazards in,.upon, and over the street or part thereof pro-
posed to be vacated.
The City Council does hereby determine that the public convenience and
necessity require the reservation of the rights, easements, and
rights -of -way enumerated above. These proceedings for the vacation of
said portion of South Sunset Avenue are taken subject to such reserva-
tions and exceptions.
SECTION 2. The City Council of the City of West Covina does
hereby elect to proceed to vacate the said portion of said street
under the provisions of Part 3, Division 9 of the Streets and
Highways Code.of the State of California.
SECTION 3. The hour of 8:00 P. M. on Monday, the llth day of
May, 1981, is hereby fixed as the time and the Council Chambers in the
City Hall at 1444 West Garvey Avenue South, West Covina, is hereby
• fixed as the place for hearing all persons interested in or objecting
to the proposed vacation of said portion of said street.

SECTION 4. Notices of Street Vacation shall be posted by
the State Superintendent in the manner prescribed by Section 8322
of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California.
SECTION 5. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
• this resolution and shall cause the same to be published within
fifteen days of its adoption in one regular issue of the West Covina
Tribune, a newspaper of general circulation, printed, published, and
circulated in the City of West Covina.
