Resolution - 6296RESOLUTION NO. 6296 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA, CALIFORNIA, REGULATING AND CONTROL- LING PRIVATE ROADS NOT OPEN FOR PUBLIC USE WITHIN PROPERTY OWNED BY QUEEN OF THE VALLEY HOSPITAL. WHEREAS, the Queen of.the Valley Hospital has requested the City of West Covina to enact the necessary resolutions to permit enforcement of the provisions of the California Vehicle Code on its property located at 1115 South Sunset Avenue; and WHEREAS, Section 21107.7 of the California Vehicle Code allows local authorities to designate locations, that are not held open for the use by the public, as subject to the provisions of the California Vehicle Code, and that for the protection of the public peace and safety, requires that the provisions should apply to such private property; and WHEREAS, the City Council has approved the recommendation of the Traffic Committee to permit the enforcement of traffic regulations of the California Vehicle Code on the grounds of the Queen of the Valley Hospital and that the Queen of the Valley Hospital install the necessary traffic control devices in accord- ance with the State Traffic Manual; and WHEREAS, the Queen of the Valley Hospital has agreed to install all necessary signs to permit the enforcement of the vehicle code. • NOW THEREFORE; the City Council of the City of West Covina does hereby resolve as follows: SECTION 1. Pursuant to Section 21107.7 of the California Vehicle Code, the City Council of the City of West Covina does hereby find and declare that there are privately owned and maintained roads located on the property owned by the Queen of the Valley Hospital that are not generally held open for use by the public, and that the protection of the public peace and safety requires that the provisions of the California Vehicle Code apply to such privately owned and maintained roads. SECTION 2. The City -Clerk -shall certify to the adoption of this resolution. APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 23rd day of March 1981.
