RESOLUTION NO. 6258
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WEST COVINA, CALIFORNIA, FIXING THE COMPENSATION
PAYABLE TO CLASSIFICATIONS WITHIN THE CITY OF
WEST COVINA'S LIMITED SERVICE AND RESCINDING
APPENDIX A OF RESOLUTION NO. 6075.
The City Council of the City of West Covina does resolve
as follows:
SECTION 1. That Appendix A of Resolution No. 6075 is
hereby rescinded and superseded by this Resolution.
SECTION 2. That Section VII of Master Resolution No.
1277 relating to wages for limited service classes is hereby amended.
SECTION 3. Hourly wage rates for the following limited
service classes shall be increased by ten percent (l00), effective
February 1, 1981:
Engineering Trainee
Administrative Intern
Planning Aide
Landscape Architect Trainee
Communications Assistant
Senior Recreation Leader
Recreation Leader
Recreation Assistant
Recreation Aide
Pool Manager
Assistant Pool Manager
Lifeguard/Instructor
Swimming Pool Cashier
Dressing Room Attendent
SECTION 4. Hourly wage rates for the following limited
service classes shall be increased by twelve percent (120), effective
February 1, 1981:
• Reserve Police Officer
Reserve Police Sergeant
Reserve Police Lieutenant
Reserve Police Captain
Park Worker
Crossing Guard
SECTION 5. Budget Allocation - That the City Council does
hereby allocate an amount of money, not to exceed $12,000, and autho-
rizes transfer of said funds from the unappropriated fund balance
(.the 121 Fund) to the individual departmental accounts for purposes
of funding these wage adjustments as'detailed in Appendix A, attached
hereto.
SECTION 6. Effective Date - This Resolution will become
effective February 1, 1981.
SECTION 7. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this Resolution.

Pay assignment and pay increases
for limited service classifications
shall
be granted as follows:
Group I: With the approval of the City Manager, may be hired at a rate of
$2.50 to $6.24 per hour depending upon qualifications and level of assigned
duties.
Group I, II and III: Begin new employees at X step (except as noted above).
Steps Y and Z are awarded after successful completion of 500 hours of work
per step.
Group IV: Assign as follows:
X - newly employed or assigned.
Y - Successful completion of one year at Step "X" plus 200 hours
annual non -paid service.
Z - Successful completion of one year -at Step "Y" plus 200 hours
annual non -paid service.
Note: An employee, upon promotion to a higher limited service class within
the same series, when possible, shall be placed on the step in the new range
that results in an increase in wages.
