A. Waiver of Fees for San Gabriel/Pomona Parents' Place Event at Cortez Park
Staff recommends that the City Council approve the request of the San
Gabriel/Pomona Parents' Place Family Resource Center to waive all permit fees
associated with their Information Fair and Festival planned for April 25, 2004 at
Cortez Park.

CITY MANAGER'S OFFICE
B. Letter Supporting the Backfilling of the Vehicle License Fee by the
State of California
It is recommended that the City Council direct staff to forward a letter supporting
the backfilling of the Vehicle License Fee by the State Of California to all state
elected officials representing West Covina and the League of California Cities.

C. Selection of Executive Search Firm for the Fire Chief Recruitment
It is recommended that the City Council:
1. Approve an agreement with Maximus to conduct a statewide search for a new
Fire Chief at a cost not to exceed $24,000, and
2. Appropriate $24,000 from the General Fund Balance to account I10-320-
2560-6117 for the contract with Maximus.
3. Appropriate $2,000 from the General Fund balance to account 1 10-320-2560-
6117 for travel expenses associated with additional interviews that the City
Manager may conduct with the final candidates, if necessary.

FIRE DEPARTMENT
D. Direction Clarification of Ambulance Program from the December 2, 2003
City Council Meeting
It is recommended that the City Council:
1. Provide direction for the West Covina Fire Department in regards to
Resolution Number 2003-113 for the purchase of the three ambulances; and
2. Provide direction for the West Covina Fire Department regarding the
distribution of a revised RIP for personnel services, and/or direction on
agreements with current ambulance providers.
