PUBLIC COMMENT ON ITEMS ON THE AGENDA
I. SPECIAL EVENT LICENSE FOR THE SALE OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES
The Elks Club has requested permission to sell beer at Cameron Park on July 4, 1999. In
order to sell alcoholic beverages in a City park or building, the City Council must consent
to the Elks doing so (see WCMC § 16-21 and 16-27).. In the past, the City Council has
approved such requests, such as the Historical Society Fund Raiser on August 22, 1998
and the Rose Parade Float Fund Raiser on August 23, 1998. If the Council approves this
request, the State Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) must also issue a
license to sell alcohol, such as a one -day special event license. The City will provide a
copy of tonight's minute action to the Elks for the ABC.
