Resolution - 31AT THE RFGULIkE, ILEETING of the City Council of the City of West Covina held on October 12, 1938, the rollowing resolution was offered by L. Reeg, and unanimously adopted. Carried. That -pursuant to the, provisions of sections 1770 to 1777, inclu- sive, of the Labor Code, the City Council has ascertained the prevail- ing rate of per diem wages, and the prevailing rate for Saturday, Sunday, Legal Holiday and overtime work, for each craft or type of workman needed to execute the proposed contract, and it will be re- quired that not less than said rates be paid to all such workmen ® employed on the work. THe per diem rates so ascertained, reduced to an hourly basis, are as indicated in the following tabulation, and shall be applicable to eight (8) hours or less of employment in any one calendar day except Saturdays, Sundays and the following seven legal holidays, to sit; New year's Day, Memorial Day, r'ourth of July, Labor Day, Armistice Day, i:hanksgiving Day and Christmas. For anyworking time of more than eight (8) hours in any one calendar day, and for time worked on Saturdays, Sundays and any of° the aroreriient coned holidays, not less than one and one-half (1-1) times the specified rates shall be paid; provided, however, that, notwithstanding tree general pro- visions hereinabove set forth, the straight rates as specified ror Flagmen, guards and watchmen shall be applicable to eight (8) hours or less of employiient per calenday day, including Saturdays, Sundays, and 'holidays, ror a total not more than north (40) hours per week, and that not less than one and one-half (1!) times the specified rates shall be paid said Flagmen, guards, and watchmen for any time i worked in excess of eight (8) hours per calenday day or forty (40) hours Der meek.
