CITY OF WEST COVINA City of West Covina Memorandum AGENDA ITEM NO. c_3 DATE February 6., 1996 SUMMARY: On July 25, 1995, the City Clerk's Office received a claim for personal injuries. The amount of claim had not been determined at time of presentation. The claimant alleges he tripped and fell over a pole which was left on the swimming pool deck located at 1932 E. Garvey Avenue. As a result of this fall, claimant alleges he sustained injuries to his head. After a thorough investigation and review of this matter, our staff and the City's claims administrator recommend denial. I I As all claims should be considered potential lawsuits, it is requested that all Councilmembers refrain from making specific public comments so as not to prejudice any claim. Specific questions should be referred to the City Attorney. RECOMMENDATION That the claim of David Martinez filed on July 25, 1995 be denied and that the claimant be so notified.
