THAT NO PARKING ON STREET SWEEPING DAYS BE IMPLEMENTED ON
CALIFORNIA AVENUE FROM FRANCISQUITO AVENUE TO BAINBRIDGE
AVENUE.
FINDINGS:
In response to a request to prohibit parking to facilitate street sweeping on California
Avenue, a survey of the 41 affected properties was conducted. Twenty-five responses
were received with 22 (54%) of the properties in favor of prohibiting parking on the
second and fourth Mondays of each month from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., three are not in
favor, and 16 of the property owners did not respond to the survey.
California Avenue is classified as a collector street, 40 feet in width with residential
properties abutting the street. The prohibition of parking for .street sweeping is used
throughout the City where more than 50% of the affected properties express a desire for
the prohibition and where traffic and/or safety would not be adversely affected. There
would be no adverse effect at this location.
TRAFFIC COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION:
THAT NO PARKING ON STREET SWEEPING DAYS BE IMPLEMENTED ON
CALIFORNIA AVENUE FROM FRANCISQUITO AVENUE TO BAINBRIDGE
AVENUE ON THE SECOND AND FOURTH MONDAYS OF EACH MONTH
FROM 7:00 A.M. TO 3:30 P.M.

II. REQUEST:
Loretta Cousar, West Covina Resident
THAT NO PARKING ON STREET SWEEPING DAYS BE IMPLEMENTED ON
WOODGATE DRIVE FROM TEMPLE AVENUE EAST TO THE END OF THE
STREET.
FINDINGS:
In response to a request to prohibit parking to facilitate street sweeping on Woodgate
Drive, a survey of the 65 affected properties was conducted. Based on the survey, 27
(42%) of the properties are in favor of the prohibition, nine are not in favor, and 29 of the
property owners did not respond to the survey. Since City policy requires a majority of
the properties to be in favor, the parking prohibition will not be considered. However,
taking into c6nsideration that the majority of the properties that are in favor of the
parking restriction are grouped at the east and west ends of Woodgate Drive, it is
beneficial to those properties located at the east and west ends of Woodgate Drive to
implement the parking restriction.
➢ On the north side of Woodgate Drive from Temple Way to 1729 Woodgate Drive, all
three properties are in favor of the parking restriction.
➢ On the south side of Woodgate Drive from Temple Avenue to 2800 Courtnay Circle,
of the eight affected properties, five are in favor of the parking restriction, and three
did not respond to the survey.
➢ On the north side of Woodgate drive from Pam Place east to the cul-de-sac, of the ten
affected properties, six properties are in favor of the parking restriction, one is not in
favor, and three did not respond to the survey.
➢ On the south side of Woodgate Drive from Brookfield Place east to the cul-de-sac, of
the 22 affected properties, 12 properties are in favor of the parking restriction, four
are not in favor, and six properties did not respond.
Woodgate Drive is a residential street, 40 feet in width. The prohibition of parking for
street sweeping is used throughout the City where more than 50% of the affected
properties express a desire for the prohibition and where traffic and/or safety would not
be adversely affected. There would be no adverse effect at this location.
C COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION:
THAT NO PARKING ON STREET SWEEPING DAYS BE IMPLEMENTED ON
THE NORTH SIDE OF WOODGATE DRIVE FROM TEMPLE AVENUE TO
AND INCLUDING 1729 WOODGATE DRIVE AND ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF
WOODGATE DRIVE FROM TEMPLE AVENUE TO AND INCLUDING 2800
COURTNAY CIRCLE ON THE FIRST AND THIRD FRIDAYS OF EACH
MONTH FROM 7:00 A.M. TO 3:3,0 P.M.
THAT NO PARKING ON STREET SWEEPING DAYS BE IMPLEMENTED ON
THE NORTH SIDE OF WOODGATE DRIVE FROM PAM PLACE EAST TO
THE END OF THE STREET AND ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF WOODGATE
DRIVE FROM BROOKFIELD PLACE EAST TO THE END OF THE STREET
ON THE FIRST AND THIRD FRIDAYS OF EACH MONTH FROM 7:00 A.M.
TO 3:30 P.M.
