CALL TO ORDER OF THE CITY COUNCIL
I. DRUG EDUCATION PROGRAMS \
The City of West Covina and the West Covina Unified School District
cooperate on a number of drug education efforts. With the proclamation
of Cities Fight Back Against Drugs Week, December 3-4, additional pro-
grams may be undertaken. Staff suggests that the City Council and
Board of Education consider these proposals and provide direction to
both agencies' staffs as may be desired.
II. LOCAL GOVERNMENT CURRICULUM
City staff has prepared a report on the potential development of
educational resources to be used in the classroom to teach students
about local government. It is recommended that the City Council and
Board of Education direct each of their respective staffs to work
together to produce educational materials on local government for
use in the School District's government curriculum.
III. CULTURAL CENTER
The City Council and the Board of Education will discuss the potential
development of a cultural center in West Covina.

IV. SCHOOL RESOURCE OFFICER AT EDGEWOOD MIDDLE SCHOOL
November 14, 1989
The City Council and the Board of Education will discuss the potential
for expansion of the School Resource Officer program to Edgewood Middle
School.
V. TONOPAH SCHOOL SITE
City staff will provide an update on the proposed residential develop-
ment of the Tonopah School site.
