POLICE DEPARTMENT PRESENT: Sergeant Mark Dettor, Police Department, Thomas M. Mayer and Miguel Herandez. I. REQUEST: City of Walnut THAT THE CITY OF WEST COVINA CONCUR IN THE CITY OF WALNUT INSTALLING A 4-WAY STOP AT THE INTERSECTION OF CALLE BAJA AND CAMINO DE GLORIA. The City of Walnut has reviewed the intersection of Calle Baja and Camino De Gloria for the installation of a 4-way stop and they have found the installation to be justified. The City of Walnut has requested the City of West Covina's concurrence in the. installation of the stop signs since this intersection is partially within each jurisdiction. The City of West Covina historically cooperates with neighboring jurisdictions in the furtherance of traffic safety. TRAFFIC COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION: THAT THE CITY OF WEST COVINA CONCUR IN THE CITY OF WALNUT INSTALLING A 4-WAY STOP AT THE INTERSECTION OF CALLE BAJA AND CAMINO DE GLORIA. i DEC98 SUMMARY 4 I. REQUEST: City of Walnut THAT THE CITY OF WEST COVINA CONCUR IN THE CITY OF WALNUT INSTALLING A 4-WAY STOP AT THE INTERSECTION OF CALLE BAJA AND CAMINO DE GLORIA. FINDINGS: This intersection is under the joint jurisdiction of the cities of West Covina and Walnut with the City boundary being the centerline of Calle Baja. Since the City of West Covina has jurisdiction over the northerly portion of this intersection, any alteration of the traffic controls at this intersection by the City of Walnut requires the concurrence of West Covina. The City of Walnut has reviewed the intersection of Calle Baja and Camino De Gloria for the installation of a 4-way stop and they have found the installation to be justified. The City of Walnut has requested the City of West Covina's concurrence in the installation of the stop signs since this intersection is partially within each jurisdiction.
