The applicant submitted a request for approval of a six -lot, five
residential lots and a private street lot, division of land for
condominium purposes on a 2.35-acre site at 4146 East Virginia
Avenue, in the R-A Zone, Area District III. A request filed in
conjunction with the subdivision for a lot depth of less than 125
feet was withdrawn after redesign of the map eliminated the need
for the variance.

6) MISCELLANEOUS PUBLIC WORKS
a) Parcel Map 14547 - Conveyance of Parcel No 1
The City .owns a portion of excess State Right -of -Way at the
northeasterly quadrant of Sunset Avenue and the San Bernardino
freeway. In an agreement between the City and the Redevelopment
Agency, the City agreed to grant to the Redevelopment Agency
the excess land for certain street improvements. The conveyance
is being done in two parts and this is the second parcel of
land being conveyed. It is recommended that the City Council
adopt the following resolution:

OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR

To begin the Maintenance District renewals for 1989-90, the
City Council must order the Engineer's report to hold the
necessary Public Hearing prior to July 1, 1989. It is
recommended that the City Council adopt the following
resolutions:

7) AWARD OF BIDS
Purchase of Two Pickup Trucks
The 1988-89 Budget provides for the purchase of two pickup trucks
for the Maintenance Department. Because of substantial cost savings,
we have found it beneficial in the past to purchase our vehicles
using the State of California Vehicle Purchasing Program. The
cost will be $18,708 plus tax, shipping and processing fees. It
is recommended that the City Council authorize the purchase of
two pickup trucks through the State of California Vehicle Purchasing
Program at a cost of $18,708, plus tax, shipping and processing
fees.

1) Enforcement of the Ban on Fireworks

On March 7, 1989, in a Special Election, the voters of West Covina
upheld Ordinance 1790, prohibiting the sale and use of Safe and Sane
Fireworks. In the enforcement of the ordinance the Municipal Code
provides for issuing citations as an infraction. It is recommended
that the City Council affirm the status of violations as an infraction,
and receive and file this report.
