d) MAINTENANCE DISTRICT #4 MAINTENANCE CONTRACT RENEWAL
Review staff report. It is recommended that the City Council
grant renewal of J & R Landscape Maintenance Company, Inc.'s
contract for the coming twelve month period at a 4.4% increase.
e) STREET CLEANING CONTRACT RENEWAL
Review staff report. It is recommended that the City Council
grant R. F. Dickson Company, Inc. a contract extension, with
a 4.3% increase, or $13,717.66 per month and authorize the Mayor
and City Clerk to execute the agreement.
f) CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS - QUARTERLY STATUS REPORT
(INFORMATIONAL)
Review staff report. Recommendation is to receive and file
this report.
7) ORDINANCE FOR ADOPTION (Waive.further reading and a
ORDINANCE 1714 - AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WEST COVINA, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING CHAPTER 24, ARTICLE II OF
THE WEST COVINA MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO STREET TREES AND
TREES IN PUBLIC PLACES.
8) AWARD OF BIDS
a) SP-86123 - CITYWIDE STREET MAINTENANCE AND REHABILITATION
Review staff report. It is recommended that the City Council
accept the bid of Vernon Paving of Anaheim in the amount of
$302,772.50 as submitted at the bid opening on April 8, 1986,
and authorize the Mayor and City Clerk to execute an Agreement
with said Vernon Paving for the work to be done.
b) GP-85904-1 - CIVIC CENTER PARKING LOT RESURFACING
Review staff report. It is recommended that the City Council
reject all bids.

Dial -A -Ride service due to the uneconomical aspects of this
service.
2. Execute an Agreement with Community Transit Services in
the amount ,of $176,387 for the operation of the West Covina
Dial -A -Ride service from July 1, 1986 to June 30, 1987.
3. Authorize staff to submit a Project Description to the Los
Angeles County Transportation Commission.
