PLACE EVENT AT CORTEZ PARK
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that the City Council approve the request of the San Gabriel/Pomona
Parents', Place Family Resource Center to waive all permit fees associated with their
Information Fair and Festival planned for April 29, 2007 at Cortez Park.
DISCUSSION:
The San Gabriel/Pomona Parents' Place Family Resource Center has requested permits and
services from the City to hold its 15th Annual Information Fair and Festival on Sunday,
April 29, 2007 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Cortez Park. The Parents' Place organization
has now made a request to the City Council to waive all City fees associated with this event.
Representatives of Parents' Place have stated that no provision was made in the event
budget for these fees and that it would pose a hardship to pay the fees.
This annual event has been held at Cortez Park for the last 14 years running. For at least the
last three previous years, Parents' Place has requested and the City has granted the waiver of
all City fees associated with the event.
For the proposed Parents' Place event, staff has determined that the following permits/fees

FISCAL IMPACT:
The fiscal impact associated with this request would be the loss of an estimated total of
$1,136 in fees that would otherwise be placed into General Fund revenues.
