PROPERTY TAXES

Review staff report. It is the recommendation of the City
Attorney and City Staff that the City Council authorize the
Special Counsel of the City of West Covina Redevelopment
Agency to file suit and a claim on behalf of the City of
West Covina against the County of Los Angeles for a
proportionate share of "delinquent tax penalties and
interest."

approve an amendment to the existing contract between the San
Gabriel Valley Animal Control Authority and the San Gabriel Valley
Humane Society to allow the Humane Society to contract for animal
control services with the cities of Rosemead, Alhambra and E1
Monte, provided that West Covina's shelter costs are lowered by
the JPA to $48,900 per annumor less. _
