Motion by Scheuplein, seconded by Ramirez, to approve Minutes of December 10, 1997.
Motion carried 4-0-1 with Lane abstaining.
V. ACTION ITEMS TO CITY COUNCIL OR CITY MANAGER
Classification Specification for Environmental Management Director
Motion by Scheuplein, seconded by Azpeitia, to recommend approval of classification
specification for Environmental Management Director. Motion carried 5-0.

Recruitments were reviewed which had been completed and eligibility lists certified
through the month of December 1997:

D. Safety Committee Meeting Minutes - October 1997
The Commissioners received and filed the Safety Committee Meeting Minutes for the
month of October 1997.
VIIL REORGANIZATION
Motion by Azpeitia, seconded by Ramirez, to appoint Commissioner Scheuplein as Chair.
Motion carried 5-0. Motion by Scheuplein, seconded by Azpeitia to have term as Chair
terminate at end of June 1998 to coincide with the date the Municipal Code calls for
reorganization (July). Motion carried 5-0.
IX. STAFF REPORTS/DISCUSSION
Personnel Director Ure discussed her departure and that of Analyst McIntyre Temporary
replacement of Director with interim, a retiree, is being considered.
IX. COMMISSION'S COMMENTS - Commission wished departing staff well in their new
endeavors.
X. ADJOURNMENT - Motion by Ramirez, seconded by Scheuplein, to adjourn at 8:10 p.m.
