as Commissioners.

I1. APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF November 14, 1996 - 1t was moved, seconded
and carried to approve the minutes of November 14, 1996 as presented. �I

III. WRITTEN COMMUNICATIONS - None.
IV. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS,- Vita and Tony Chiappone, 3422 Priscilla Drive,
West Covina, asked for information regarding the West Covina water
companies' service charge. They questioned whether they "had a choice
of water companies", wanted to know if any water company had a special
senior rate and what other water companies charged, compared to West
Covina. Staff will look into rates of various companies.

ad by shopping at various businesses. She stated (that

Older Adult Single Head of Household Stats - Bommarito reported on
single head of household information. Discussion was held on how to
reach single heads of household, that for various reasons do not appear
on statistics. Commissioner Pahner agreed to contact Police and Fire to
see if they would be willing to help accumulate information through
contact with those that meet this criteria. Staff also stated that they
would contact the Post Master to see if he would be able to help.
VIIL. COMMISSIONER REPORTS -
Gratz - Reported that C. B. Operators needed new members to assist
O.E.S. Staff said they would publish a notice if Commissioner Gratz
would prepare it.
Although first requesting information on fees, he found them to be
"relevant." He requested information on the budget and will make an
appointment with Bommarito.
Pahher - Asked about BINGO and donations. ' Kowalski will prepare a
report to the Commission. Pahher also shared that the health service
section of the Chamber had had a presentation on "Pamp Net" and that
it was "excellent."
Buckingham - Reported that SHOP received accolades from the Chief of
Police for, services.
Kowalski - Has been involved with her family. She shared that "Senior
Day" at Target was a great day.
Deniston - Shared the top 10 senior legislation priorities. She writes an
article each month for The VOICE and will speak to the Association on
Senior issues.

1. Report on Water District Base/Service Charges by Staff.
2. Report from BINGO.
3. Single Head of Household Project
X. The Commission adjourned to the next regular Senior Citizens Commission
meeting on Thursday, January 9, 1997 at 3 p.m. in Room 314 of the West
Covina City Hall.
