SUMMARY: Walmerado Youth Pony Baseball has incurred expenses in the amount
of $10,500 for improvements approvedin the 1994-95 Capital Improvement
Program and requests reimbursement.
BACKGROUND
On September 20, 1994, the West Covina City Council adopted the 1994-95 Capital
Improvement Program, Resolution # 9131. That included a request from Walmerado
Youth Pony Baseball for miscellaneous ball field improvements. $50,000 was approved
for the following:
1)
Replacement and repair of ball field lighting system.
2)
Extension of exhaust hood in the snack bar.
3)
Restoration of infield turf and irrigation.
4)
Extension to the backstop.
5)
Installation of netting in the park field.
The league has incurred expenses in the amount of $10,500 for landscaping and lawn sheet
hydromulching and is requesting reimbursement of these expenses: The league is handling
its own contracts and will forward invoices to the City for payment as they occur.
RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Council approve the amount of $10,500 to be reimbursed to the Walmerado
Youth Pony Baseball League for expenses incurred in the improvement of the Walmerado
Park ball fields. '
