II. APPROVAL OF MINUTES - Regular meeting of December 10,_1991
MSC Sheety/Brightwell Approved 9-0
III. ACTION ITEMS
1. Shuttle Route Adjustment #2 In compliance with the
Commissions request, staff made a study of a minor
adjustment to the Shuttle route serving an area north
of the freeway at Pacific Avenue.
Recommendation: The Commission authorized staff to
distribute the Rider Alert flyer and to proceed with the
adjustment if no impact is identified by current riders.
MSC Brightwell/Sheety. Approved 10-0.
2. Orangewood Park Reservation Guidelines - The Commission
approved the Park Reservation Guidelines for the Orangewood
Park Pilot Program as a demonstration for one year.
Re
commendation: The Human Services Commission recommends
that the City Council approve the reservation of the
northwest area of Orangewood park and guidelines for a
one year demonstration period.
MSC Riggins/Godown. Approved 10-0.
3. Athletic Field Survey - Staff submitted an inventory of
athletic fields on school district and City owned property.
The Commission approved the following priorities for
athletic field upgrading or renovation:
1. Friendship Park - Baseball Field Lighting
2. Maverick Field - Baseball Field Development
3. Cameron Park - Softball Field Lighting
4. Cortez Park - Football Field Lighting
5. Edgewood Middle School.- Basketball and Track Lighting
6. Del Norte School - Basketball.Lighting and Court Upgrade
7. West Covina High School Basketball Court Lighting
Recommendation: That the City Council approve the
Commission's prioritized projects on athletic fields on
school district and City owned property.
MSC Riggins/Lichtman. Approved 10-0
4. Band Shell - The Commission was not in favor of a band
shell at this time because the present site (City Court
Yard) for holding concerts is adequate-.

IV. ADJOURNMENT at 9:59 p.m. to Tuesday, February
7 p.m. in Room 314 of the West Covina City Hall.
