Pasmant, City Manager and City Council FROM: Tom Bachman, Finance Director SUBJECT: SALE OF SURPLUS EQUIPMENT RECOMMENDATIONS: It is recommended that the City Council approve the following resolution that will authorize the sale of the Fire Department's obsolete breathing apparatus to Allstar Fire Equipment, Inc. for the amount of $9,100: RESOLUTION NO. 2'� - A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA, CALIFORNIA, DECLARING CERTAIN CITY PROPERTY AS SURPLUS DISCUSSION: On October 15, 2002, City Council authorized the purchase of new, self-contained breathing apparatus to replace obsolete breathing apparatus that no longer complied with the current regulations and standards that govern this equipment. In accordance with Section 2-316 of the West Covina Municipal Code, the old breathing apparatus was advertised as a Notice of Sale of Surplus Equipment and posted in the San Gabriel Valley Tribune on August 18, 2003. One (1) bid was received from Allstar Equipment, Inc. for an amount of $9,100 for all the equipment listed below. Upon authorization of the City Council, the breathing apparatus will be sold "As Is" with no guarantee or warranty, verbal or written, being made or implied.
