Pasmant, City Manager ITEM NO. and City Council FROM: Chris Freeland, Deputy City Manager 16 DATE December 21, 2010 SUBJECT: REQUEST FROM COUNCILMEMBER MICHAEL TOUHEY REQUESTING THE CITY COUNCIL'S CONSENSUS TO INSTRUCT CITY STAFF TO GO OUT TO BID FOR THE CITY'S FINANCIAL AUDIT CONTRACT RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that the City Council direct staff accordingly. DISCUSSION: This item was carried over from the December 7, 2010, City Council meeting. Per the City Council Standing Rules, Councilmember Michael Touhey is seeking the City Council's consensus to instruct City staff to go out to bid for the City's financial audit contract. The City is currently completing the financial audit of the City's 2009-2010 financial records. The contract for the independent audit services expires at the conclusion of this audit and Councilmember Touhey is requesting the contract for these services go out to bid upon the conclusion of the audit.
