SUBJECT: REQUEST FROM MAYOR MICHAEL TOUHEY REQUESTING THE CITY
COUNCIL CONSIDER USING CITY HOUSING SET -ASIDE -FUNDS TO
PAY FOR POLICE OFFICERS
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Council direct staff accordingly.
DISCUSSION:
Per the City Council Standing Rules, Mayor Pro Tern Michael Touhey is seeking the City Council's
consensus to instruct staff to prepare a report to consider the use of housing -set -aside funds to pay
for police officers and determine/investigate the legality of using such funds.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Any fiscal impact will be dependent on direction taken by the City Council.
