Ordinance - 1892ORDINANCE NO. 1892 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA AMENDING WEST COVINA MUNICIPAL CODE SECTIONS 2-182, 6-10, 14-26 AND 14-36 RELATING TO THE CITY TREASURER The City Council of the City of West Covina does ordain • as follows: SECTION 1. Section 2-182 subsections (i), (j) and (k) are added to the West Covina Municipal Code to read as follows: (i) Investments. The chief financial officer also shall be responsible for the investment of surplus funds subject to the restrictions and requirements of applicable law; (j) License Collector. With his or her designees, the chief financial officer shall administer and enforce the provisions of Chapter 5, Article III and IV and Chapter 14, Article II, III, VIII, Chapter 25, Article II of this Code. (k) Additional Duties. The chief financial officer shall perform those financial duties not assigned by law to the City Treasurer and other duties as may be delegated by the City Council or City Manager from time to time. SECTION 2. Section 14-26 of the West Covina Municipal Code shall be amended to read as follows: Section 14-26 License Collector to Sign Licenses All licenses issued under and by virtue of this article shall be signed by the license collector and for the purposes of this article, the chief financial officer or his/her designee is designated as license collector. The license collector shall set forth in such license the name of the party to whom the license is issued, the nature of the trade or business licensed to be pursued, the time for which the same is granted, the date thereof, the amount paid therefor and the location where said business, trade or profession is to be carried on. SECTION 3. Section 14-36 of the West Covina Municipal Code shall be amended to read as follows: It is the duty of the chief financial officer to act as license collector and he or she is hereby directed to enforce each and all of the provisions of this article. The City Manager and license collector may designate or appoint assistants for the performance of such duties. SECTION 4. Effective Date.
