ORDINANCE NO. 960
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WEST COVINA ADOPTING BY REFERENCE THE 1965 EDITION
OF THE FIRE PREVENTION CODE AND AMENDING CERTAIN
PROVISIONS OF THE WEST COVINA MUNICIPAL CODE
RELATING THERETO.
The City Council of the City of West Covina does ordain as
SECTION 1., Section 3200 of the West Covina Municipal Code
is hereby amended to read as follows:
v3200. ADOPTION OF FIRE PREVENTION CODE.
There is hereby adopted by reference, for the purpose
of prescribing regulations governing conditions hazardous to
life and property from fire or explosion, that certain code
known as the Fire Prevention Code, 1965 Edition, recommended
by the American Insurance Association, successor to the National
Board of Fire Underwriters, and the whole thereof, save and except
such portions aslare hereinafter in this Chapter deleted, modified
or amended, of which code not less than three copies have been
and now are filed in the office of the City Clerk, and the same
are hereby adopted and incorporated as fully as if set out at
length herein." I
SECTION 2.1 The first sentence of subsection (a) of Section
3203 of the west Covina Municipal Code is amended to read as follows:
A) Article I is hereby augmented by adding thereto the
• following sections:"
SECTION 3.; Subsection (g) of Section 3203 of the West Covina
Municipal Code is amended to read as follows:
"(g) Appendix B-is hereby deleted."
SECTION 4. Subsection (h) of Section 3203 of the West Covina
.Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
"(h) Paragraphs (a) and (b) of Section 28.1 of Article
28 are hereby amended to read as follows:
Section 28:1 BONFIRES AND OUTDOOR RUBBISH FIRES
(a) 'Subject to Air Pollution Control District.

restrictions of the Air Pollution Control
'District, County of.Los Angeles, as the same
snow exists, or are hereafter amended.
(b) Fires on Public Property. It shall be unlaw-
u or any person except an officer or employee
;of the City within the scope of his duties, to
set fire to, ignite, or burn any.combustible
material or substance upon any street, alley,
sidewalk, park, parkway or other public property
;within the City.
:Exceptions. This provision shall not prohibit
a person from utilizing cooking and campfire
facilities provided in City Parks."
SECTION 5. Subsection (i)of Section 3203 of the West Covina
Municipal Code is hereby amended as follows: Sections 28.13 through
28.16 contained therein are hereby renumbered 28.15 through 28.18, res-
pectively.
SECTION 6. Section 4201 (d) of the West Covina Municipal
• Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
(d) To light or maintain any fire except in a stove,
fire circle or other place provided for that purpose."
SECTION 7. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of
this ordinance and shall cause the same to be published as required by
law.

•meeting of the City Council on the 28th day of March 1966
