The adjourned regular meeting of the.City Council of the City of West Covina
was called to order by Mayor Shearer at 7:00 PM in the City Hall Council Chambers,
1444 W. Garvey Avenue, blest Covina. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Council-
man Tennant.
ROLL CALL
Present: Mayor Shearer, Mayor Pro Tem Tice, Councilmen Chappell and
Tennant
Others Present: Fast, Diaz, Eliot, Miller, Thomas, Volmert, Koniarsky,
Williams, Varela; Meacham, Berry'
COUNCIL VACANCY DISCUSSION - Mayor Shearer stated that this discussion beaan.at
the October 24th meeting re possible persons for appoint-
ment to the City Council. As no agreement was reached at
that time, Council continued the matter until the 3rd of
November.
Councilman Chappell restated his choice for the appoint-
ment - Bob Bacon - and the qualifications of Mr. Bacon.
Councilman Tennant restated his criteria for suggested
persons... He then noted that :his choice of the last meeting,
Harvey Krieger,had withdrawn his name from consideration.
He then supported'the appointment of Mr. Bacon.
Mayor Pro Tem Tice also supported the appointment of
Mr. Bacon, inasmuch as his first choice, Mr. Krieger, had
.withdrawn his name.
Mayor Shearer made the choice unanimous; -by supporting
the suggestion of Mr. Bacon to fill the unexpired term of
Nevin Browne..

Motion by'Chappell; seconded by Shearer, and unanimously
Adoption of carried to waive further reading of the resolution and "to
Resolution No. 6211 adopt. Motion carried by roll call vote:

to. Mr. Bacon who then took his seat at the Council table.

EXECUTIVE SESSION Mayor Shearer called a recess at 7:17 PM in order to con-
vene an Executive Session in the City Manager's Conference
Room. Council reconvened at 10:17 Ptl.
ADJOURNMENT Motion by Chappell, seconded by Tice, and unanimously carried
to adjourn the meeting at .1.7 PM.
