with a status report for" the first year and -a -half
of. the Rental.Me.diation Board. Of. the 124 cases

to rent increases. Forty percent of the cases handled
• -were resolved by information, 50% by compromise, and
10% were `not resolved. The Board was instrumental in

They presented five conclusions and nine. recommen-
dations. Motion by -Tice, seconded by.Chappell, and

of the comments that Mrs.. -Garcia had stated. Mr.
Val.esquez stated that.the CETA program is inde-

pendent:of' .. CSA,...and the comments do not relate
to a'public:hearing for a Community Action Agency.
Counci loran Tennant asked if the Community _
Action.Agency is endorsed. -by the involved cities,
when would the CAA actually be implemented. Mr.
Valesquez stated that the regulations require
CSA to. -make' a determination within seven days
of the.submitted documentation by the East San
Gabriel -Valley Consortium; and that determination
will be made the first week of August, 1980.

Mayor Pro Tem Shearer asked who would administer
the CSA funds if -the Consortium is not designated
as a CAA. Mr.. Valesquez stated that the County
of Los -Angel e-s- would make the determinations on
the use of funds.
