MINUTES OF THE.ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING OF THE
CITY COUNCIL
CITY OF WEST COVINA, CALIFORNIA
MARCH 20, 1967
The adjourned regular meeting of the City Council was called to order
by Mayor Krieger at 4:10 P.M. in the West Covina City Hall.
Color Guards from West Covina Junior Girl Scout Troop No. 427 and
Cub Scout Troop No. 435 posted the colors. The Pledge of Allegiance
was led by a member of Cub Scout Troop No. 435
The invocation was given by Father Bramble of St. Christopher`s
Catholic Church.

A gift was presented by West Covina Junior Girl Scout Troop No. 427
to the Sister City delegation from Toluca, Mexico.
Mayor Krieger read proclamation of week of March 20, 1967, as Sister
City Week, and presented the proclamation to Dr. Gustavo Estrada
Ocampo, Chairman of the visiting delegation.
Mayor Krieger: Dr. Estrada and members of the
delegation from Toluca: We have
performed certain formalities here
this afternoon, but we are looking forward to much more than just a
formal visit. We hope that in the few days that you can spend with
us that we will have the opportunity to become better acquainted.
i know that each of us serving on the Council in West Covina are
proud and pleased to have you within our City. We hope that you
will think of this as a second home and as a second family.
We hope that your stay with us will be memorable.and instructive
and promotive of better relations and closer ties in the future
between our two cities.
