MINUTES OF THE ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING OF CITY COUNCIL
CITY OF WEST COVINA, CALIFORNIA
February 6, 1962

The meeting was called to order by Mayor Heath at 6:30 P.M. in
the West Covina City Hallo
ROLL CALL.
Present: Mayor Heath, Councilmen Barnes, Snyder
Others Present: Robert Flotten, City Clerk
CANVASS OF VOTE:
Canvass of the result of.the'vote''
on the Referendum January 30, 1962.
Mayor Heath acted as inspector and appointed Councilman Snyder
and Councilman Barnes as clerks. Tally sheets were removed from
the number two envelopes and the total votes reflected thereon
were checked with the totals shown on the "Result of Votes Cast"
form delivered to the City Clerk by the inspector from each voting
precinct in person on election night. These totals were compared
with the totals in the resolution to be adopted declaring the re-
sult of the voting. All found to be in order and the resolution
was adopted as follows:

THE RESULT OF THE CANVASS OF THE
VOTE'S CAST AT SAID SPECIAL MUNI-

Hearing no objections, we will
waive further reading of 'the
body of the resolution.
Motion by Councilman Barnes, seconded by Councilman Snyder, that
said resolution be adopted. Motion passed on roll call as follows:
Ayes: Councilmen Barnes, Snyder, Mayor Heath
Noes: Nond
Absent: Councilmen Towner, Adams
Said resolution was given No, 2310.

PROJECTS 131, 131-1 Motion by Councilman Barnes, sec -
AND CIVIL DEFENSE BIDS onded by Councilman Snyder, and
carried, that the bids on Project
131', :.Project 131-1 and Civil De-
fense Radio Equipment, which were scheduled for opening on Thursday,
February 22, 1902, may be opened on Wednesday, February 21, 1962,
in that February'22', 1962, is a legal holiday (Washington's Birth-
day) and the City Hall will be closed.
CHAMBER OF COMMERCE Regarding West Covina High School
LETTER graduating class annual party.
Motion by Councilman Snyder, sec-
• onded by Councilman Barnes, and carried, to concur with -the rec-
ommendation of the Chamber of Commerce to discourage requests of
this and similar types due to the tremendous demands being made
upon our business people.

Motion by Councilman -Snyder, seconded by Councilman Barnes and car-
ried, that the matter be referred to the Chamber of Commerce Soli-
citation Control Committee for their recommendation,
There being no further business, motion by Councilman Barnes, sec-
onded by Councilman Snyder and carried, that the meeting be adjourned
at 6:50 P.M. The next regular meeting will be held on February
13, 1962.
